In March 2014, Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin appointed Dr. Beasley to the Oklahoma State Board of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services subject to Oklahoma State Senate Confirmation which occurred in May 2014. Dr. Beasley will serve a seven year term from 2014-2021. This is Dr. Beasley's second term on the DMHSAS Board having been first appointed by Governor Henry Bellmon in 1987. At that time, Dr. Beasley was the first psychologist ever appointed to the DMHSAS. Dr. Beasley also served as Vice Chair of the Board while serving his first term. To accept the Governor's appointment, Dr. Beasley was required to resign from his current position as Vice Chair of the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (OSBEP).
In 2011, Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin appointed Dr. Beasley to a four year term on the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners of psychologists, the Board that licenses psychologists in Oklahoma. His term on the OSBEP was to end in 2015.
