Dr. Beasley receives
Oklahoma psychological association's
highest award
At it's annual
convention in November 2006 held in Tulsa, OK, Dr. Stewart R. Beasley,
psychologist from Edmond, OK
received the Distinguished Psychologist Citation. The award
was presented by OPA President Dr. Frank Collins of
Stillwater, OK.
The Citation reads as follows:
The Oklahoma Psychological Association hereby recognizes and
expresses its sincere appreciation to Stewart R. Beasley Jr., Ph.D. for his
many years of service and his numerous contributions on behalf of psychology
and OPA. Dr. Beasley is the first psychologist to serve as OPA President on
two occasions. He was the first psychologist to serve as a member of the
Oklahoma State Board of Mental Health and Substance Abuse. In addition to
President, Dr. Beasley has served OPA as a member of the Board for more than
a decade, as Treasurer on several occasions, as Legislative Committee Chair,
as Public Education Coordinator, as Federal Advocacy Coordinator, as Public
Relations Advisor, etc., etc. Dr. Beasley has contributed immeasurably to
the growth of psychology in Oklahoma.
