FAQ
  •  ARE YOU ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS?
Absolutely! I will always accept new patients and look forward to exceeding your expectations with my care and services.

  • DO YOU ACCEPT REFERRALS?
Your referral is the highest compliment that you can give my practice. I welcome your referrals and will always strive to accommodate the needs of your friends and family.

  • DO YOU HAVE EARLY OR LATE APPOINTMENTS?
My practice is open on Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and closed for  lunch from 12:30-1:30 pm. My latest appointment is 5:00 PM. If you desire an early or late appointment, we highly recommend that you schedule  your next visit before you leave our office. This will insure that you are able to schedule at the time most convenient for you.

  • WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT? WILL I BE CHARGED?
Not if you cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance or if you have an unavoidable personal emergency. Otherwise, last minute cancellations deny other patients the benefit of treatment they need. I appreciate every effort you can make to give me as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or change an appointment. I understand that occasionally an emergency will present itself and that there is no other option. Patients are not charged for cancellations due to genuine emergencies, but if you have repeated occurrences, I may ask that you keep a credit card on file that will be charged whenever you have a broken appointment. I am committed to providing services to patients that demonstrate a firm commitment to their psychotherapy.

  • DO YOU ACCEPT MY INSURANCE PLAN?
Dr. Beasley is a fee for service private psychologist who does not routinely file insurance claims for his patients. This decision is based on his years of experience with health insurance companies, their policies, and their procedures. You may or may not want to utilize a mental health provider who accepts insurance based on the following information.
Most significantly, by filing an insurance claim for Dr. Beasley’s professional services, you drastically reduce the privacy to which you are otherwise legally entitled. To pay claims, insurance companies require you to sign a release allowing them to access your personal information on file in Dr. Beasley’s office. They may request the entire contents of your personal health information file and Dr. Beasley must release that information with a properly signed release.

Second
, before considering your health insurance claim, your health insurance company will require that Dr. Beasley assign you a mental health diagnosis. Most people who seek treatment from Dr. Beasley are healthy, well-functioning persons who are working through life events affecting their happiness and sense of well-being. Dr. Beasley does not routinely diagnose people with whom he provides professional services unless requested to do so on a case-by-case basis. Having a mental health diagnosis on file with your insurance company
may be used in your future applications for credit, life insurance, employment, etc.

Last, health insurance companies remove treatment decisions from you and Dr. Beasley. Based on your mental health diagnosis, an insurance clerk will determine the number and length of sessions to which you are entitled based on your policy limits and your progress or lack of progress in treatment. Dr. Beasley believes strongly that such decisions are best made collaboratively between you and him.

If you have any questions regarding Dr. Beasley’s decision to decline accepting insurance for payment, please do not hesitate to discuss your questions with him. If you do elect to file your own health insurance claims, we will work diligently to assist you in receiving insurance reimbursement for Dr. Beasley's services. He is not on any discounted  insurance company panels and is what is considered an "out of network" provider.  Most insurance companies will partially pay for his covered services as an out-of-network provider. A few insurance carriers require you to see only providers on their approved panel. As a courtesy, our office staff will assist you in filing insurance claims  for Dr. Beasley's services with your insurance carrier. Your insurance carrier will then make a determination of whether they will reimburse you for services - and if so, how much. You will be responsible for all professional fees regardless of your insurance carrier's policy
